The short answer is no, I am not a minimalist by any stretch. I like a certain texture in my home. I like bright colors and unexpected surprises for the eye. I do want a less busy look to my home and I think I have toned it down a few levels. What do you think?
I am finding the changes very soothing. I took the red slipcover off of the couch and just removed anything that felt extraneous. Amy says that on a scale of one to ten, one being minimalist and ten having every space occupied I'm now an eight. I like to think of myself as more of a six and a half. Thoughts?

Quite charming, I love your sense of style. It is hard for me to put a number to it - because I too like to have things about that make me feel cozy.
From one that loves junking and feels the need to display all her "treasures", you have found a perfect harmony.
I'm thinking I can only WISH my home looked so good. You have an amazing ability to create spaces that look warm and embracing, yet despite all the things gathered together, I am no overwhelmed.
I'm struggling just to get my floors swept, so I doubt well-put-together rooms are in my undergraduate future. Such is the life of a working, studying wife and mother!

Looks so cozy! Not too cluttered, still I would hate to be the one dusting! You are particular with your arranging so it looks tidy to the eye even though it's a lot of stuff.I was good at this before I got to 4 kids and now I have to go with as bare as possible.
