What crazy looks like...

People, I am going to be upfront with you. I am struggling.

The reason for my struggle is this: next week we are going on a plane.

We will sit in a gigantic metal tube which will hurtle through the air and the only thing which will keep it from smacking into the ground will be the sheer force of my anxiety.

The other thing I must do to ensure that my family and I do not suffer a terrible fiery death is to stay very, very, very, busy this week and compulsively make lists.

Some lists will be related to the trip. Some lists will be related to Halloween. Some lists will be about homeschooling. Some lists will be about the holidays.

This list making prompted me to begin and nearly finish my holiday shopping. The busy behavior also led me to go to Ikea today and to then return home and completely empty my closet and reorganize it. It seems very obvious to me that my slipcovers need to be cleaned and redyed and my pantry needs an overhaul.

Please send valium and chocolate.

Love,

Crazy

I'm with you on the flying thing. And Ikea...oh Ikea..the place that reminds you that you can live in 300 square feet.

Awwww Sara. If I could fly on your behalf I so would do it in a heartbeat. I love flying...I grew up with a Dad who flew us in little planes on a number of holidays. Then we went overseas and the only way to get from one town the next, for the most part, was to fly in little planes. I grew up thinking big planes were so exciting.

I hope your trip goes well. I am certain the flights will be fine. Planes do not randomly drop out of the sky.

I knew this was coming. While I don't feel your pain, I do feel great pain for your pain. If I had a wand, I'd magically transform your fear into lurve.

Yeah, I hate flying, too. I wish I could do something to help, offer wonderful words of advice, etc, but I got nothing, other than ... Nope, nothing. Except it will be fine, and it sounds like you're getting a lot done, and if you're still feeling nervous, you could come down here and take care of my holiday shopping. Just thought I'd offer ...

Wow, what accomplishments you've made all to distract your mind from flying. I need some of that distraction. Xmas shopping done? Well done!

I get the shivers when I visualize the plane so high in the air. I know, this isn't helping. Well, it is a cozy air pod, and it's fast. That's good. You can do it.
