Fall arrives at Shiny Red Houses...

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns!" George Eliot

I don't know how it happens that September arrives and suddenly the air is cool. The sun is warm and yet the air has changed. The light changes too and everything feels different.

We put away summer today. The creeping shadows and the brisk breeze require deeper colors and warm fabrics. The girls were excited to see fall arrive in our house.

"It's fall!" they cried to each other.

And so it is.

That's awesome. I just wish it would turn into Fall down here in the Deep South...

The tartan ice chest is sooooo sweet......it looks yummy with all your fall goodies. I can't wait to just be able to snuggle under a blankie....without the fan on high pretending it is fall......

How did I know this post was coming? And that your "summer funk" was almost over...do you feel better now?

I love the idea of changing out decor when the season changes. I particularly dig that flour canister with the flowers in it. Very cool!

It's even feeling like fall here in NC. I'm with G. Eliot--wherever it's autumn, I'm happy to be there.

Enjoy the season!

I'm good with fall. It's what comes after that scares me.

I half-expected (who am I kidding? fully-expected) a fallish look to the blog face. Is that next?
