About five years ago when Lily first started preschool I had gotten in the habit of cutting my own hair. David was traveling all the time and I was so busy with a two year old and a five year old that I hardly even noticed my hair. I'd try to keep it straight in the back, but really, it was pretty rough.
One day I was at the mall returning something at J.Jill when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and was horrified. I had had no idea it had gotten that bad. I knew that there was a beauty shop over by Lord and Taylor. I had one hour before I had to leave to pick up Lily so I went over there to see if they had anyone available.
It was on that day that I met Toni. She made hairdo magic and has continued to do so ever since.
I was stunned when I left the shop that day. My hair was amazing. Layers and flips and dips all came together to bring me the most perfect hair cut of my life.
I have been going to Toni ever since. I have never strayed. I have never cried after a hair cut. I have loved every single cut.
All of this is leading up to tell you why I felt brave enough to walk into the salon today and suggest bangs.
I haven't had bangs in years and up until five minutes before my hair cut bangs had never even occurred to me. While I was waiting for my turn I looked in one of those hair style books and saw bangs. Why not?
When I asked Toni about it she was very positive, but suggested we dye my hair darker first since it was time to say good bye to summer highlights.
Here I am with Toni.
Here's my new hairdo!
I love it!
Sometimes a little bit of change is good.

You look Marvi!!!
I am not brave enough to try anything new...I am still stuck in the rut you were in cutting your own hair. I don't cut mine though, I just wear it up ALL of the time.
Good for you, you look beautiful!!
I love your blog....
Valerie
Love the new look, and totally agree that Toni is a shearing genius. She is the only stylist (other than my dear Phyllis in NJ) who does not disappoint. In August I travelled 2400 miles to have her cut my hair!. Okay, I was planning a trip to Shiny Red Houses...but Toni was added value.
Looks even better in person. Mwaaaah!
I've been going to the same gal for 31 years. Even when I lived in different cities, I would route flights through Cincinnati just to get my hair cut. I can only hope I die before she does. So enjoy your time with Toni. It's an indulgence well worth the price.
They do say a change is as good as a holiday! My hairdresser is always sending me on holidays ... she loves to experiment with my hair and I have never been disappointed. A good style does wonders for your confidence too...you look great!
Hugs,
Sandi
Fabulous! xo Mari
Ooh-La-La!!! You look adorable!
Oh I wish I could do mine so short! I have very fine hair and I'd look bald if I tried this one. YOU however look amazing!! ENJOY! It is so nice to find someone who can cut your hair. I'm still looking!
Hugs, Lisa
I love your new style. What a cute gal you are.
I wish I could find someone to cut my hair that I like. I like to try new styles, but I always seem to get the same haircut, no matter who I go to.
