Yep, a maze made out of maize.
It seemed like such a great idea.
The challenge! The adventure!
The maze has an Egyptian theme.
Corn and children.
Our first corn row. So exciting!
And exciting it was...for the first thirty minutes.
After that it was just wandering around in corn.
Guess what? It turns out that I hate corn. Who knew?
There were fake rats.
As if that's supposed to make being lost in corn better.
There were clues too.
But really, it was just being lost in corn.
It took an hour and half but we finally made our way out.
Thank god.
People, there is a lot of post maze chocolate in my future.

Whoa. I looked wicked pissed in the picture, but I had a fine time. Don't tell my wife, but I often am a little more patient than she is. Shhhhh. Though she is right in one respect-- would have been more fun if there were clues along the way... puzzles to decipher, etc, rather than aimlessly wandering through the maze. Was thinking of The Shining and Harry Potter the entire time.

Children of the Corn...
I'm going to a two-year-old's birthday party at the pumpkin patch/corn maze and am decidedly less excited about the maze part now...
From what I can see, the advertisement is true - "get lost in the adventure." Is that consolation enough to help make it any better?? Nah, didn't think so. Glad you have chocolate on hand.

Just imagine the maze at night, with a haunted theme, that would be decidedly worse. See? Normal maze with no clues during the daylight doesn't seem so bad now, does it? Of course, there is still that spooky rat...
