Paint: A Journey into Madness- The Final Chapter

I woke up this morning battered and defeated. I knew what lay before me and I was weary at the thought.

I had to repaint my room.

Here is Robin's Egg Blue Port o John Blue:

The picture does not capture the complete badness, the wrongness, the utter horror of this color on a large scale.

This next picture shows both colors: Port o Potty Blue, with a swatch of Forget Me Not painted over it.

Are you getting a sense of the difference?

This morning I went to the Benjamin Moore store and bought a can of Forget Me Not in the Aura formula. I was praying that this would be a one coat job.

Once home I painted. And painted. And painted. And then I painted some more.

Finally, it was done.

So soft and soothing. You know what this project made me realize?

1. I hate painting.

2. Choosing colors is hard.

Remember when I was said, "In decorating, mistakes are made and it is part of the process."? It's true. Mistakes are made, but decorating blunders are the best kind to make.

They are rarely permanent.

They teach you what you don't like.

They give the internet an opportunity to feel grateful that their bedroom does not glow like a latrine.

LOL Hope you are ok with the new one. I think it is great. I do think I will stay away from blue though, I really appreciate you helping me learn ;)
I hate painting too!
Hugs, Lisa

I too hate painting...and choosing colors is indeed hard. Love the final chapter...of course, we know it is only the final chapter...until the next time the paint demon takes control!!

Funny how it looks EXACTLY like the color I first suggested. Just sayin'...

You mean David, there were 2 guys telling your wife the color was going to be off, 2 guys that know color, and she didn't listen to them?

I think she loses the "you don't listen to me" point of argument in future marital spats.

I hate painting, too. Fortunately, the Man doesn't trust me to do a proper job of it, so as soon as he sees me with a paintbrush he takes over.

The new color is very lovely. I'm glad you found it. Don't listen to those men above me. You had to go through the process. That's what art is all about.

ART? She had white walls with white trim and white furniture.

Were not talking Michelangelo picking the wrong color for the hand of God at the Sistine Chapel here.

The level for success went little beyond dart, a blindfold, and a wall of color swatches at a box store.

So nice! Choosing paint from a wee paint chip is almost impossible. Ever tried the sample paint cans? I recently did it and was glad.

That chat between Michael and David was brilliant! I'd chime in but I think you've taken enough abuse for one week. Don't worry though, I'll be back to abuse you when you go round the bend again. I'm guessin' that ought to be any time now.

I kinda liked the port-o-let look. Reminded me of all the good times I've had at NASCAR races. I mighta kept a little heart-shaped bit of it up just for that. As long as it stayed in your bedroom and not mine.
