Summer begins...with a trip to Target!

First, a Public Service Announcement: Appearing in a reality show will not improve your life. Starring in a reality show will destroy everything that is precious to you. You will be tempted. Resist. That is all. Back to our regularly scheduled blathering.

Today was the first day of summer vacation for us and since it's been raining for the past 157 days we did not go to the beach. We did however, go to Target! We did not go to my usual Target. Sometimes the girls and I yearn for a little adventure, so we went to a newly renovated Target.

It was so fancy! The carts were brand new and the mossimo was in abundance. The best feature of the new and improved Target? A Starbucks. There is a Starbucks right there in the store! I concentrated really hard and ordered my favorite drink: decaf tall iced mocha latte with 2% milk and whipped cream. I'm always terrified that I am going to forget some key element of the drink and end up with sludge.

One of the things that I really enjoy about my girls is that they completely understand the appeal of Target. They helped me pick out a fancy red bathing suit and we all tried on shoes. Rebecca now wears a womens size 7 1/2 which means that she has to try on every pair of glittery four inch heels that Target sells. Lily tries to keep up, but more often she falls down after taking two steps in gigantic pink glitter pumps.

The most exciting part of my day was when my anniversary present arrived. My dear sweet husband bought me this beautiful camera, so that I will no longer torture my readers with lousy iphone pictures. I plan on spending the next few days eating chocolate and learning how to use this camera. I can't promise that the pictures will be any better, though now when they suck I won't be able to blame the camera.

Here are a few test shots.

Not The Pioneer Woman, but a girl's got to start somewhere.

My giveaway for the $50 American Express giftcard ends on Friday at 5pm EST so make sure you spread the word and get your comments in!

Awesome gift! I'm in the research mode for cameras, so details please! I went to Target today too, but didn't buy anything. ☺ Diane

I am impressed with a Starbucks in your Target. Ours doesn't have one and to boot is on the other side of town. Have fun playing with your camera.

Congrats on the anniversary & the camera. Picnik.com is a great free website for editing your digital pics.

Our Target doesn't have a Starbucks :( You're lucky!

That's why I'm grateful that I don't drink coffee — I'm not smart enough to remember an order that complex.

We have a few Targets w/ Starbucks! It is GREAT! I love Target. I need a camera so let me know how yours ends up working for you.
Happy Summer!!
