I may die tomorrow.

We are going on a whale watch tomorrow. On a boat. On the ocean. The vast cruel ocean.

So many things can go wrong.

The engines could fail.

The boat could sink.

Or be overtaken by pirates.

All the passengers could develop legionnaire's disease.

A storm could suddenly develop.

Or a freak wave!

What if Lily falls off?

What if I get seasick?

It may surprise you to know that I have a fairly narrow comfort zone. You know what is not a part of that comfort zone? Boats.

So just in case you never hear from me again, don't judge me for the mess that I left in the basement and please find a good home for the pugs. You guys can divide my junk up amongst yourselves, but please bury me in my new jeans. Thanks.

I never knew I'd marry somebody more neurotic than myself. Looking forward to seein' some whales tomorrow! :-)

Since you will be in a frenzy in the morning, remember to leave a note for yourself TONIGHT on your new jeans - "DO NOT WEAR ON WHALE WATCH." That ought to cover it since Lisa's got the rest under control. BTW, where's Rebecca going to be? She could slide off just as easily as Lily.

Hope some whales blow their spouts for you and the dolphins ride alongside the boat (that's the best part!).

Have a blast you guys.

Cheryl,

Rebecca is sturdy, she isn't likely to slide off the boat. Lily is just a little wisp of a thing. Plus she'll probably try to do headstands on the deck just to drive me insane.

I think the worst thing on your list is "wonder if I get seasick"...
Have a great time and I hope you get some pics of whales.

Cheryl, Sara should wear her jeans on the boat. After all she may be dealing with a burial at sea. And if she should wash ashore, the masses would gather and exclaim, "What a rough way to go, but you got to admire her rear".

What about the shark??

Oh I hope I get the cute little green teapot! I made all new curtains and throw pillows based on that teapot. Are the whales like killer whales?

lorettepeloquin, which sharks? The ones circling around Sara's boat? Or the ones circling around Sara's house?

Funny you guys should mention sharks...Nauset Beach was closed today because of great white sightings. I may never swim again.

You can relax. Nothing to worry about. Well, nothing on your list.

The engines could fail.
Call tug boat
The boat could sink.
Lifeboat. Women and children first.
Or be overtaken by pirates.
It's not 1709
All the passengers could develop legionnaire's disease.
Legionella pneumophila prefers buildings, not boats
A storm could suddenly develop.
weather.com gives you 7 days clear skies.
Or a freak wave!
In the Atlantic?
What if Lily falls off?
Get one of those child leash things
What if I get seasick?
Use the ocean as a toilet. Everyone else does.

We went on one up in Cape Ann a few weeks ago. Saw a few whales and then the boat stopped around the feeding grounds. Then the boat started rocking. Then the child got dizzy and nauseous and she and I ended up sitting inside the rest of time. She fell asleep on me. Yay to Captain Bill's Whale Watch and the photo cd you can purchase!
